Ernest L. Grubb, DVM
A native of Washington State, Dr. Grubb graduated from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. After 7 years working in general practice, Dr. Grubb founded Chambers Prairie Veterinary Hospital beginning his career as an equine exclusive practitioner in 1984. He founded Olympia Veterinary Services in 2016.
A wide variety of cases from lameness, lacerations, colics, extensive reproductive, dentistry, foals with developmental orthopedic abnormalities, to the most unusual and complex cases has provided him with an extensive broad medicine and surgery experience.
Through numerous conferences and training along with individual experience and study, Dr. Grubb became an expert in advanced lameness evaluations, tendon ultrasonography, and radiographic evaluation of bones and joints. Today, due to his sports medicine expertise and respected reputation/he is routinely requested by equestrian professionals and owners for consultation on pre-purchase evaluations from pleasure horses to high level performance horses. Well known for his expertise and dedication to reproduction – his client’s breeding programs have won national recognition.
In addition, Dr. Grubb takes pride in offering his clients options for equine dentistry, offering sophisticated power floating as well as a traditional hand float. Dr. Grubb loves to share his knowledge and teach, and has participated in the Veterinary Technician program offering clinical preceptorship. In his spare time Dr. Grubb will be found backpacking in remote mountains and national parks throughout the United States. He and Tessa (his jack Russell) are recognized at the National Arabian Horse Show where his wife shows their personal horses.
